I created this graphic on the inauguration day of the 45th president of the United States of America as a reminder to us all that there is still hope in the galaxy, that we must not be distracted. Stay the course, despite the odds, despite the hardships, the idiocy, the corruption. Stick together and keep fighting the good fight.

I was interviewed recently for the Inside Acting podcast. Check it out: http://insideacting.net/episode-229-tom-sepe/
Trevor Algatt and I speak about why we do what we do as artists, how and why we are all activists, where true global change and transformation comes from, what’s ahead for the human race, and more…
I’m not a big celebrity guy… folks are folks, and we all gotta eat…. but getting to meet Elon Musk and ride with him in the Tesla Model S car that I helped to hack, ahem, modify for the documentary Racing Extinction was pretty cool.
Thanks to Matt Pressman at EVANNEX for the great article, follow the link and there is a clip of extra footage from the film: http://evannex.com/blogs/news/tagged/racing-extinction

I’ve had an amazing time here in Breckenridge, Co. Jenn & Kate of Breckenridge Creative Arts have done a fantastic job of putting together this first annual Fire Arts Festival, and I look forward to the possibility of coming back here next year with my own art installation, or having a residency here.
Orion Frederick’s sculpture, Gilly, was a huge hit. People were blown away!
This week I’m in Breckenridge, CO for the International Snow Sculpure Championships and Fire Arts Festival, assisting my good friend and collaborator Orion Fredericks with his latest creation Gillaptourous Corvus, aka “Gilly,” a 14ft tall fire breathing sculpture made from cold-forged and tig-welded stainless steel. This is Gilly’s first public appearance and the location is unlike any I have ever worked in before.
Fire art? In the Snow? At first it seemed absurd, but on second thought, of course! What a perfect juxtaposition of opposites, and who doesn’t want warmth when it’s cold outside? But then…. the more I thought about it… the more anxious I became. Working in sub-freezing temperatures… wondering how the lack of oxygen at high altitude would effect combustion… and then there’s the frozen propane tanks.

I’m having one of those mornings where Despair and Doubt ate their oatmeal and did their yoga before I could kiss Dream farewell. They are doing pushups on my Heart and running circles around my breathless Hope.
A million dead seabirds paint the beaches with their starving bodies. A handful of pseudo kings pull the strings that dance the political puppets. 10,000 TV shows distract the populace while commercials invent desire for useless objects, broken before they are bought. The police are murderers. The army works for the corporations. The people are divided. The entire ocean is changing it’s chemistry, the very web of life is unravelling before our eyes and by our hands.
Has it occurred to people that our civilization is not civilized?
What if there was another way of living together? And it was just around the corner, waiting for us to invent and accept it?
Would you take a stand for that possibility?
Robin Williams Wasn’t Special
I’m certain I saw this episode on TV when it aired in 1978.
I was 7 years old, having just moved from New Jersey 2 years earlier, and I watched Happy Days religiously. I must have seen myself as a bit of a cross between the Fonz, and Richie Cunningham; with my New Jersey Italian background and my California liberal boy-scout upbringing… I guess I still do.
But when Mork (Robin Williams) appeared on the screen in this episode, things changed…
At my job (www.obscuradigital.com) we’re filming live practical visual effects that we’ll be projecting onto the new Exploratorium building in San Francisco for the Grand Opening on April 17th and 18th.
So basically we’ve set up about 6 different scale models of the new building and we are doing different crazy things, such as melting wax or growing crystals, and them filming that effect. The footage will then be 3D projection mapped onto the actual building. It’s gonna be nuts. If you are anywhere near SF on those nights you gotta see it. Two nights only!
