ABOUT THE ARTIST:

As a multimedia renaissance artist, Tom Sepe's passion for performance began in the Moraga Playhouse where he performed numerous rolls from age five to thirteen. Initially attending the University of California at Santa Barbara to pursue a Physics Major, he graduated with a self-designed Bachelor of Arts in Performance Art from the prestigious College of Creative Studies. He has (been?) trained in Modern Dance, Ballet, Capoeria and Contact Improvisation. Since 1995 he has performed in the S.F. Bay Area and abroad with APSARA, Mystic Family Circus, El Circo, Earth Circus and Xeno. In addition, he has developed a custom fabrication business and welded large-scale metal sculptures, stilts, Art Cars, and crazy contraptions designed to invigorate community and sustainability. In his spare time, Tom films and edits video shorts about farms, artists, and world-record breaking bio-diesel motorcycles.

ART CARS:

2007, "Whirlygig Emoto," Steampunk inspired electric motorcycle with working steam-boiler.

2003, "White Dragon Firetruck," 1960 International Open Cab Firetruck converted to parade / festival vehicle with dance/performance platform on the rear.

2002, "Runamock Fishvan," 1970's RV stripped to the frame and rebuilt as a giant silver fish with observation deck, sound system and karaoke machine.

Taught "How To Build an Art Car", Stilt-walking, Fire-Breathing and Fire Eating. Produced 10 minute mini-documentary on world-record-breaking biodiesel motorcycle. Produced numerous short promotional videos.
